Hall-Fast have achieved their target of raising £40,000 within a period of 24 months for the Fountaindale SEN School with £13,555 being raised on the night of their second annual charity ball which was held at the John Fretwell Complex on the 9th May.
The Nottingham Road School helps youngsters aged three to 19 with severe physical and sensory needs, the money raised will be used to buy equipment for its new building, which is expected to open later this year.
Hall-Fast began its fundraising campaign almost two years ago and they have taken part in a number of challenges, including a recent Coast to Coast bike ride with a team of local cyclists, the Tough Guy challenge, along with numerous other fundraising activities with Mansfield Town, The Sheffield Steelers and Nottingham Rugby as part of the Anglia Way based company’s North Nott’s Community Partnerships with the clubs’.
Hall-Fast MD Malk Hall said "we are tremendously proud to have raised such a substantial amount of money in such a relatively short period of time; I thank every person and company who has sponsored us along the way, without their support this would not have been possible!"
With over two months still to go before the end of the fundraising period it is hoped that a lot more money will be raised, "we have a fundraising night on the 17th July at the Mint restaurant in Mansfield and there is still sponsorship money which was pledged for our Coast to Coast challenge to come in" commented Mr Hall.
Mark Dengel, the Principal of Fountaindale School said: "£13,555 raised in one night is an unbelievable amount. We are so grateful to everyone who supported the event. The money will make a real difference to the lives of many of our children with disabilities by allowing us to purchase specialist equipment which will help them to make sense of their world, to communicate and to make real choices and decisions about their lives. We can't thank all those involved enough."
