"We won’t know exactly how much was raised on the night for a few weeks as we wait for all of the money to come in, but we hope it will get us close to our target of £50,000 raised for the Fountaindale School over the last 24 months."

The Nottingham Road school helps youngsters aged three to 19 with severe physical and sensory needs.

Mr Hall began his fundraising campaign almost two years ago and has taken part in a number of challenges, including a recent Coast to Coast bike ride with a team of local cyclists.

He was joined at the charity spectacular by former EastEnders actor and East Midlands Today weather presenter Des Coleman, who hosted an auction on the evening. Musical entertainment was provided by The Marks Brothers, while the event also featured a host of charity party games.
