Safe operation — the straddle base specifics

Most of the safe-operation principles for the standard SL10 apply to the straddle base too, with one important addition:

1. Set the leg span before loading — don't try to adjust the legs with a load on the forks
2. Lock the legs in position — confirm the locking mechanism is fully engaged before lifting
3. Check both sides are evenly positioned unless you specifically need an asymmetric set-up against a wall
4. Position on solid, level ground — uneven floor surfaces undermine the straddle base's stability advantage
5. Keep the load within the rated 454kg capacity and 460mm load centre regardless of leg position
6. Never stand under a raised load — the SL10, like all material lifts, is not a personnel lift
