The Fristads FootShape wide toe box sets the ComfortStep apart from conventional safety footwear. Rather than forcing the foot into a narrow, unnatural profile, the FootShape design mirrors the natural spread of the foot — improving balance, reducing pressure points, and supporting better posture across the course of a full shift. BOA® Fit System: Fast, Precise, Reliable

The integrated BOA® Fit System replaces traditional laces with a micro-adjustable dial, delivering a precise and consistent fit across the entire foot in seconds. A tongue pressure equalizer, co-developed with BOA®, distributes tension evenly to eliminate uncomfortable hotspots. The BOA® components incorporate 50% post-consumer recycled material — consistent with the sustainable design philosophy running through the entire shoe.

Where the S3S ComfortStep uses heavy-duty CORDURA® for outdoor site work, the S1PS Low is built around a highly breathable 100% recycled polyester upper — a lighter, more ventilated construction optimised for indoor conditions. The result is a shoe that feels noticeably lighter on the foot and promotes better thermal comfort throughout the day, reducing the heat and moisture build-up that comes with prolonged wear in warehouses, distribution centres, and production facilities. The breathable 100% recycled polyester lining further enhances airflow and comfort from the inside out.

Serious Protection Where It Counts

Lightweight doesn't mean underspecified. The ComfortStep S1PS Low is equipped with a fiberglass toe cap — incorporating partly bio-based polyamide — for reliable impact and compression protection, and a flexible Dynaflex® 3mm nail protection plate guards against underfoot penetration hazards. A slip-resistant nitrile rubber outsole delivers confident traction on the smooth, hard floors common in warehousing and manufacturing environments, and is also resistant to heat, fuel, and oil. A scuff cap and padded shaft edges add durability and comfort around the collar.

Anatomic Comfort Underfoot

The ActiveStep insole brings an anatomically engineered heel-to-toe drop to every step, supporting natural body alignment and helping reduce the cumulative fatigue of a long working day. For workers in predominantly stationary roles — operating pick stations, production lines, or fixed workpoints — the insole can be swapped for the separately available SteadyStep insole, which is specifically calibrated for standing-focused work. A shock-absorbing EVA midsole and heel stabilizer complete the comfort and support package.

Sustainability at Its Core

The S1PS Low is constructed with recycled and bio-based materials throughout. The upper and lining are both 100% recycled polyester. The insole contains 44% recycled PU. The fiberglass toecap incorporates bio-based polyamide. The BOA® system uses 50% post-consumer recycled polycarbonate. S1PS Certified for Indoor Work
