Precision Fit with BOA® Technology

The integrated BOA® Fit System replaces traditional laces with a micro-adjustable dial mechanism, allowing you to achieve a precise, consistent fit in seconds. The BOA® components are made from 50% post-consumer recycled material, and a purpose-designed tongue pressure equalizer — developed in collaboration with BOA® — distributes tension evenly across the foot for a locked-in feel without pressure hotspots.

Built for the Toughest Environments

The upper is constructed from recycled CORDURA® — one of the most abrasion-resistant fabrics available — delivering outstanding durability against the scrapes, snags, and wear of daily site life. An extra durable scuff cap protects the most vulnerable areas, while padded shaft edges add comfort around the ankle. The water-repellent finish keeps feet dry in wet outdoor conditions, and the breathable recycled polyester lining helps regulate temperature throughout the day.

Ground-Up Protection

Underfoot, the ComfortStep doesn't compromise. A slip-resistant nitrile rubber outsole provides confident grip across wet, oily, and uneven surfaces, and is specifically profiled for secure ladder grip — an essential feature on construction and building sites. Heat, oil, and fuel resistance add further protection in industrial environments. The flexible Dynaflex® 3mm nail protection guards against penetration from below, while the fiberglass toe cap — partly made from bio-based polyamide — offers robust impact and compression protection without adding unnecessary weight or metal.

Anatomic Comfort, All Day Long

At the heart of the boot is the ActiveStep insole — an anatomically engineered footbed with a natural heel-to-toe drop that supports proper body alignment and reduces fatigue during prolonged standing. For workers who spend the majority of their day stationary, the insole can be swapped out for the separately available SteadyStep insole, offering a tailored comfort solution for different working styles. A shock-absorbing EVA midsole and heel stabilizer round out the underfoot comfort package.

Designed With Sustainability in Mind

From the CORDURA® upper and polyester lining — both made from 100% recycled fibres — to the partially bio-based toecap and 50% post-consumer recycled BOA® components, the ComfortStep is engineered with environmental responsibility embedded throughout. The insole itself is 44% recycled PU, reflecting Fristads' commitment to reducing the environmental impact of professional workwear.

Approved to EN ISO 20345:2022+A1:2024 at safety class S3S, the ComfortStep carries a comprehensive certification profile: SR (slip resistance), FO (fuel and oil resistance), LG (ladder grip), SC (scuff cap), HI (heat insulation), CI (cold insulation), HRO (heat-resistant outsole), and ESD (electrostatic discharge) approval to IEC 61340-5-1:2024. Metal free throughout, making it suitable for sites with metal detection requirements.
