The Draper DSH675/FLUE Far Infrared Diesel Heater represents a fundamentally different approach to space heating — one that's quieter, more efficient, nearly odourless, and far more controllable than traditional site heaters. Delivering 67,500 BTU (19.8kW) of far infrared heat across approximately 110m², this indirect infrared heater is designed for users who want genuine warmth in a permanent or semi-permanent installation, with the convenience of a remote control, digital thermostat and 24-hour programmable timer.
What sets this heater apart from every other model in the Draper range is its flue kit — supplied as standard. This allows combustion gases to be vented externally, making the DSH675/FLUE the only heater in the Draper lineup suitable for enclosed indoor spaces that are not well-ventilated. Used without the flue in well-ventilated areas such as garages, barns and workshops, it performs as a highly efficient portable far infrared heater. Used with the flue in a more permanent installation, it becomes a capable, controllable, low-running-cost heating solution for enclosed commercial, agricultural or industrial spaces.
At just 50W of electrical consumption and 1.7L/hr of diesel, this is one of the most economical heaters in the Draper range — and one of the most fully featured.
Key Features
Far Infrared Heat — Evenly in All Directions
Unlike forced-air heaters that blow warm air in a single direction, this heater uses far infrared radiant technology that spreads heat evenly in all directions from the unit. People, surfaces and objects throughout the space absorb warmth directly — with no cold spots, no draughts, and no noise from a high-powered fan.
Flue Kit Included — Suitable for Enclosed Indoor Spaces
The supplied flue kit is the defining feature that separates the DSH675/FLUE from every other heater in the Draper range. By venting combustion gases externally through the flue, this heater can be used in enclosed indoor spaces that are not well-ventilated — a capability no other Draper DSH model offers. The flue kit must be used in any non-ventilated indoor environment; without it, the heater should only be used in well-ventilated areas as with other combustion heaters.
Remote Control Operation
The remote control puts full operation in your hand without needing to approach the heater — adjust temperature, set the timer, or switch it on and off from across the room. Ideal for installed applications where the heater may be wall-mounted or positioned out of easy reach.
Digital Thermostat with Full Thermostatic Control
The digital thermostat and LED control panel provide precise temperature management — set your target and the heater maintains it automatically, consuming fuel and electricity only as needed to hold the temperature. Over long periods of use, this thermostatic efficiency makes a significant difference to running costs.
24-Hour Programmable Timer
The 24-hour timer allows the heater to be programmed to start and stop automatically — pre-warming a space before you arrive, or shutting down overnight without manual intervention. For commercial, agricultural or regular workshop use, this programmable control is a genuinely practical feature.
Exceptional Energy Efficiency — Just 50W Electrical Draw
While most combustion heaters use 125W–340W of electricity to power their fans and pumps, the DSH675/FLUE draws just 50W from the mains — the lowest electrical consumption of any heater in the Draper range. The primary fuel cost is diesel at 1.7L/hr, making it highly economical to run continuously.
Very Low Noise Operation
Far infrared heating requires no high-powered fan, and the DSH675/FLUE is designed for near-silent operation. This makes it particularly well-suited to workshops where sustained fan noise is disruptive, customer-facing commercial spaces, or any environment where a quiet working atmosphere matters.
Virtually Odourless
The DSH675/FLUE's clean indirect combustion produces minimal odour — a significant advantage over some combustion heaters in occupied spaces and one that contributes to a more comfortable working or commercial environment.
Wheeled for Manoeuvrability
Despite its weight of 58kg, the DSH675/FLUE is fitted with wheels for repositioning around a space as needed, or between locations prior to permanent flue installation.
Diesel and Kerosene Compatible
The DSH675/FLUE runs on both diesel and kerosene from its 45-litre tank, offering flexibility on fuel choice depending on availability and cost.

Two Ways to Use the DSH675/FLUE
This heater offers two distinct installation modes, making it one of the most versatile in the Draper range:
Without Flue — Well-Ventilated Spaces In garages, barns, open workshops, warehouses and marquees with good natural ventilation, the DSH675/FLUE can be used as a portable far infrared heater without connecting the flue. It operates in the same manner as other combustion heaters in the range, with combustion gases dissipating into the ventilated space.
With Flue — Enclosed Indoor Spaces When the supplied flue kit is installed to vent combustion gases externally, the DSH675/FLUE becomes suitable for enclosed indoor areas without ventilation — a capability unique in the Draper range. This opens it up for permanent or semi-permanent installation in spaces such as enclosed workshops, offices adjacent to workshops, indoor commercial premises, and other enclosed environments where combustion heaters would otherwise be unsuitable.
Important: The flue kit must always be used in non-ventilated or poorly ventilated indoor spaces. Never operate this heater in an enclosed space without the flue connected and properly installed.
Where to Use the Draper DSH675/FLUE
Without flue (well-ventilated):
- Open and semi-open garages and workshops
- Agricultural barns and outbuildings with natural airflow
- Warehouses with ventilation
- Marquees and large covered outdoor events
With flue installed (enclosed indoor spaces):
- Enclosed workshops and garages
- Commercial premises and retail spaces
- Agricultural buildings without natural ventilation
- Indoor sports facilities and leisure buildings
- Permanent heating installations in industrial or commercial units

The DSH675/FLUE is the only heater in the Draper range that combines a flue kit for enclosed indoor use with remote control, digital thermostat, programmable timer and far infrared technology. It occupies a distinct position — closer to a permanent heating installation than a site heater.
Why Choose the Draper DSH675/FLUE?
Most site heaters are designed to be temporary. The DSH675/FLUE is designed to be permanent — or at least semi-permanent — and that changes everything about how it performs and what it offers.
The flue kit unlocks spaces that are off-limits to every other combustion heater in the Draper range. The remote control and 24-hour timer make it practical to programme around a working day. The digital thermostat manages fuel consumption intelligently. And the far infrared technology delivers quiet, even, odour-free warmth that makes occupied spaces genuinely comfortable rather than simply warm.
At 1.7L/hr diesel consumption and 50W electrical draw, it's also among the cheapest to run in the range. For workshops, commercial premises and agricultural buildings where heating is a year-round requirement, the running cost advantage over less efficient models compounds significantly over a heating season.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to use the flue kit? The flue kit must be installed and used whenever the heater is operating in an enclosed space that is not well-ventilated. In well-ventilated spaces such as open garages, barns and workshops, it can be used without the flue — as with other combustion heaters in the range. Never operate in an enclosed space without the flue fitted.
What does "far infrared" mean, and how is it different from other infrared heaters? Far infrared (FIR) refers to the longer wavelength end of the infrared spectrum, which is absorbed very efficiently by objects, surfaces and people. Unlike near-infrared heaters which produce a more intense directional heat, far infrared spreads warmth evenly in all directions and feels more like natural ambient warmth. The "indirect" design means combustion is contained within the unit and heat is radiated outward — rather than combustion gases being released directly into the heated space.
Can it run on kerosene as well as diesel? Yes — the DSH675/FLUE is compatible with both diesel and kerosene from its 45-litre tank.
How large a space will it heat? The DSH675/FLUE is designed for spaces of approximately 110m². This covers a generous single commercial unit, a large workshop or a substantial agricultural building.
How long will a full tank last? At 1.7L/hr consumption, the 45-litre tank provides approximately 26 hours of operation at full output — well over two full working days. With thermostatic cycling reducing output when the target temperature is maintained, real-world runtime will be longer still.
Can I control it without using the remote? Yes — the heater features an LED control panel directly on the unit for manual operation. The remote control provides the same functionality at a distance.
How noisy is the DSH675/FLUE? The far infrared design operates with minimal fan noise — significantly quieter than forced-air models in the Draper range. It is described as low noise and is well-suited to occupied commercial and workshop spaces.
Is permanent installation required? No — the DSH675/FLUE is wheeled for portability and can be used as a portable heater in well-ventilated spaces without flue installation. The flue kit enables more permanent installation where combustion gases need to be vented externally, but the heater is not restricted to fixed installations.
This indirect far infrared diesel heater with flue kit features a remote control and digital thermostat for easy heat control. It is economical, low noise, almost completely odourless and highly cost efficient to run.
