Built to trade specification and designed to work hard every day, the Draper BS305 is a 305mm bandsaw that brings serious cutting capability, thoughtful engineering, and genuine versatility to any workshop environment.

The 750W motor delivers two distinct cutting speeds — 370m/min (6.16m/sec) for cutting wood and wood-derived materials, and 800m/min (13.33m/sec) for faster stock removal and alternative materials including plastics. Two-speed operation gives you the flexibility to optimise blade speed for the material in hand, extending blade life and improving cut quality across a wider range of tasks than a single-speed machine allows.

With a 305mm throat capacity and a cutting depth of 165mm (maximum capacity 172mm), the BS305 handles a genuinely wide range of workpiece sizes — from small intricate cuts to substantial timber sections — making it as useful for curved and freehand cutting as it is for resawing thick stock. Adjustable blade tensioning and tracking ensures the blade runs true and cuts accurately, while the high specification mitre guide — graduated to 30° in both directions — handles precise crosscut work with confidence.

The worktable measures 390 x 480mm and tilts from 0° to 45°, enabling angled ripping, bevel cuts, and compound work with a tilting mechanism built to the same high structural standard as the rest of the machine. The quality of the worktable support and tilt mechanism is explicitly designed to trade professional standards — this isn't a component that flexes or drifts under load.

An LED worklight illuminates the cutting area for visibility on detailed work or in a poorly lit workshop corner. A tool drawer built into the base unit keeps blades, Allen keys, and accessories organised and close to hand without cluttering the bench. The dust extraction outlet connects to a workshop extractor to remove sawdust at source.

The no-volt release switch prevents the blade from restarting unexpectedly after a power interruption — an important safety feature on a machine with a continuously running blade. The BS305 can be used floor-standing or mounted on a bench, and a dedicated stand is available separately (Draper stock no. 84718) for those who want a permanent, optimum-height installation.
