Rack Armour® Large Upright Racking Protectors - Safety Yellow
Heavy-Duty Racking Protection That Looks Like Part of the Building
On heavier-duty pallet racking, the protection at the base of the leg gets noticed. By forklift drivers, by H&S inspectors, by auditors walking the aisles for BRC, ISO 45001, customer compliance visits, or insurance assessments. The Rack Armour® Large Upright Protector in Safety Yellow is built for those sites — sized to fit front-facing uprights up to 110mm wide (Euro C) and finished in the standard industrial Safety Yellow that integrates cleanly with the rest of the building's safety palette.
It's the version specified by facilities teams who want the rack protection to read as part of the engineered safety system, not as an aftermarket bolt-on. Same proven 80% impact reduction as the rest of the Rack Armour® range, in the colour that already matches your bollards, column wraps, kerb protection, and floor markings.
Our Price Promise: We won't be beaten on price for any authentic Rack Armour® product. Send us a lower online price or written quote and we'll match it. Bulk discounts are available for site-wide rollouts and project orders.
Why Safety Yellow on Heavy-Duty Racking
In light-duty or low-traffic environments, the choice between Safety Yellow and Hi-Vis Yellow is mostly aesthetic. On heavy-duty racking, it tends to be a facility specification decision:
- Audited environments (food production, pharma, automotive parts, 3PL operating to customer SLAs) often have written colour standards for safety infrastructure. Safety Yellow is the recognised industrial standard and slots into those specifications cleanly. Hi-Vis Yellow can read as non-standard or non-coordinated to an auditor.
- Larger racking is more visible. When uprights carry heavier loads in higher-bay configurations, the base of every leg is in plain sight. A coordinated yellow palette across bollards, end-of-aisle barriers, racking protectors, and floor lines looks engineered. Mixed yellows look improvised.
- Long-term appearance. Safety Yellow uses a standard industrial pigment that holds its colour over a 15+ year service life. Fluorescent finishes can fade more visibly under UV exposure or repeated cleaning, which matters more on larger uprights where every protector is on permanent display.
For sites already specified to a coordinated industrial colour scheme, Safety Yellow is usually the only realistic choice. Hi-Vis Yellow tends to be specified separately for specific zones — cold stores, dim picking aisles, or high-contrast warning areas — rather than as the building standard.
Built for the Heaviest Working Warehouses
The Euro C size sits on the racking that takes the hardest hits. Distribution centres running mixed MHE at speed, third-party logistics sites with continuous pallet movement, automotive and engineering parts warehouses, cold storage with larger trucks, and heavy manufacturing stores. Rack Armour® is rated to -40°C, resistant to moisture, corrosion, and most industrial solvents, and engineered for repeat impact resistance over a 15+ year service life.
How It Works
The patented HDPE outer shell deflects forklift and MHE impacts, while the high-density foam core absorbs the energy before it can reach the racking leg, achieving an independently verified 80% reduction in racking damage. Unlike steel column guards, which transfer impact force into the upright or rip out their floor anchors, Rack Armour® absorbs and dissipates the energy harmlessly:
- No floor fixings — clips on by hand without anchors or drilling
- Won't deform, rust, or split under repeat impact
- Lifts off in seconds for the rack inspections required under FEM and HSE guidance
- Independently tested to FEM 10.2.16

Where the Large (Euro C) Size Fits
Euro C 110mm uprights are typical of heavier-duty pallet racking — taller bays, heavier pallets, and greater loads per beam. Common applications include large distribution and fulfilment centres, 3PL operations, cold and chilled storage, automotive and engineering stores, beverage and FMCG warehouses, and heavy manufacturing. The Safety Yellow variant is the usual specification on sites running formal facility colour standards or operating to audited safety regimes.
If you're not sure whether your uprights are Euro B or Euro C, measure the front-facing width of the leg in millimetres: anything over 100mm and up to 110mm sits in the Euro C bracket.
Engineered Protection That Reads as Engineered
Add Rack Armour® Large Upright Protectors in Safety Yellow to your order today and get protection that integrates into your building's safety system rather than sitting alongside it. Site-wide rollout pricing, FEM-tested performance, and our standard price match promise on every authentic Rack Armour® product.
Why specify Safety Yellow rather than Hi-Vis Yellow on heavy-duty racking? On larger racking systems, the protection is more visible and more often inspected — by H&S, auditors, and customer visits. Safety Yellow is the recognised industrial standard for warning infrastructure and integrates cleanly with existing bollards, kerb protection, and floor marking. Hi-Vis Yellow is brighter and better suited to specific low-light zones or contrast-critical warning areas, but can read as non-standard against a coordinated industrial palette. Most facility specifications default to Safety Yellow as the building standard.
Is Rack Armour® FEM tested? Yes. The product has been independently tested to FEM 10.2.16, the European standard for racking impact protection, supporting compliance with current warehouse safety best practice and demonstrable due diligence under HSE guidance.
What size pallet racking does the large Rack Armour® protector fit? The large (Euro C) size fits front-facing uprights from above 100mm and up to 110mm wide. This covers many heavier-duty UK pallet racking profiles used in higher-bay and high-load applications.
How do I choose between Euro B (Medium), Euro C (Large), and Euro D (XL)? Measure the front-facing width of your racking upright in millimetres. Up to 100mm = Euro B / Medium. Above 100mm and up to 110mm = Euro C / Large. Above 110mm and up to 120mm = Euro D / XL.
Do you offer bulk discounts for site-wide orders? Yes. Bulk discount pricing is available for site-wide rack protection rollouts and project quotes. See the bulk discount tab on the product page or contact our sales team directly with your quantity requirements.
Does it really clip on without floor fixings? Yes. Each Rack Armour® protector slides onto the upright and clips into place by hand. No bolts, anchors, drilling, or contractor visits are needed, which is particularly valuable on heavy-duty racking installs where floor anchor work would interrupt operations.
How much damage does Rack Armour® prevent? Independent testing shows an 80% reduction in racking damage when Rack Armour® is fitted. The HDPE shell deflects the impact while the foam core absorbs the energy before it reaches the upright structure.
Will it work in cold storage and freezer environments? Yes. Rack Armour® is rated to operate at temperatures down to -40°C without loss of performance, suiting it to ambient, chilled, and frozen storage environments.
How long does it last? The large upright protector has a 15+ year design life and absorbs multiple impacts before needing replacement, depending on the force of each strike. The Safety Yellow finish is designed to retain its colour over the full service life without significant fade.
Can I have my company branding on the protectors? Yes. Rack Armour® ships with plain branded labels by default. Add a note at checkout if you'd like your own company details printed on the label.
Do you really price match? Yes — our price promise covers every authentic Rack Armour® product. Send a lower online price or a written quote and we'll match it.
