Cut clean, accurate chases for electrical conduit, pipework, and cable runs through masonry, brick, block, and concrete with the Draper Expert WC1320 1320W Wall Chaser — a professional-grade chasing tool built to the exacting standards of Draper's Expert range. Designed for first-fix electricians, plumbers, and building contractors who need to chase walls quickly, cleanly, and repeatedly throughout a working day, the WC1320 combines a powerful 1,320W motor with fully adjustable cutting width and depth, soft start technology, and a comprehensive accessory package that makes it ready for professional use straight from the carry case.

Wall chasers are the professional's tool of choice for creating cable and pipe chases — cutting two parallel grooves simultaneously to produce a clean, defined channel far more quickly and accurately than an angle grinder and chisel approach. The WC1320's dual 125mm diamond blades run at 9,000rpm, cutting efficiently through brick, dense block, and concrete with minimal breakout and a clean channel profile that reduces the time needed for filling and finishing.

Cutting width is fully adjustable from 8mm to 28mm, accommodating everything from narrow single-cable chases through to wider channels for twin conduit, larger diameter pipes, and multi-cable runs. Cutting depth is independently adjustable from 10mm to 30mm, giving you precise control over channel depth to suit the diameter of the conduit or pipe being installed and the depth of plaster or render over the substrate. This combination of independent width and depth adjustment makes the WC1320 exceptionally versatile across the full range of first-fix chasing tasks encountered on residential and commercial construction projects.

Soft start technology brings the twin blades up to speed gradually, reducing the initial shock load on the motor and blades and improving control at the start of each chase. A dust extraction outlet connects to a workshop vacuum for effective dust and debris management during chasing — a critical feature given the significant volume of masonry dust generated during wall chasing operations. The supplied chisel makes it straightforward to knock out the waste material between the two cut grooves to complete the chase.

Supplied in a carry case with two diamond blades, a side handle, chisel, and a 3m cable with BS plug, the WC1320 arrives comprehensively equipped and ready for immediate site deployment.

FAQ Section

What materials can the WC1320 wall chaser cut through?
The WC1320 is designed for chasing masonry substrates including brick, dense concrete block, aerated block, and poured concrete. The supplied diamond blades are suited to these materials as standard. It is not designed for use on timber stud walls, metal framing, or similar non-masonry substrates.

What cutting widths and depths does the WC1320 offer?
Cutting width is adjustable from 8mm to 28mm and cutting depth from 10mm to 30mm, both independently adjustable to suit the specific conduit, pipe, or cable run being installed. This range covers the full spectrum of standard first-fix chasing requirements on residential and commercial projects.

Why use a wall chaser rather than an angle grinder for chasing?
A wall chaser cuts two precisely spaced parallel grooves simultaneously, producing a clean, consistent channel with defined edges and minimal breakout in a single pass. An angle grinder with a single disc requires two separate passes to define the channel edges and produces far more dust, less controlled cutting, and a less clean result. Wall chasers are significantly faster, more accurate, and produce a better-finished channel that is easier to fill and make good after installation.

Does the WC1320 have dust extraction?
Yes. The WC1320 features a dedicated dust extraction outlet designed for connection to a workshop vacuum or site dust extractor. Given the significant volume of masonry dust generated during wall chasing, connecting to a vacuum is strongly recommended for operator health, visibility of the cut line, and site cleanliness. Many professional sites require active dust extraction during chasing operations under current dust control regulations.

What is soft start and why is it important on a wall chaser?
Soft start gradually brings the twin blades up to operating speed rather than engaging at full power instantly. This reduces the start-up torque shock transmitted to the operator, extends blade and motor life by reducing stress at start-up, and gives improved control at the beginning of each chase — particularly important when positioning the tool accurately at the start of a new run.

What accessories are supplied with the WC1320?
The WC1320 is supplied in a carry case with two diamond blades pre-fitted and ready to use, a side handle for two-handed control during chasing, a chisel for clearing waste material from between the cut grooves, and a 3m cable with BS plug.

Is the WC1320 suitable for professional daily use?
Yes. As part of the Draper Expert range, the WC1320 is built to a higher specification suited to professional daily site use. Its 1,320W motor, high-quality diamond blade specification, soft start, dust extraction, and comprehensive accessory package make it a capable, productive tool for first-fix electricians, plumbers, and building contractors.
