Draper 230V Hex Breaker, 14kg, 1500W
Tackle concrete breaking, demolition, and hard material removal with confidence using the Draper HXBKR1500D 1500W Electric Hex Breaker — a powerful, capable breaking tool that delivers 45J of impact energy at up to 1,900 beats per minute, making it well suited to a wide range of breaking and demolition tasks on construction sites, in domestic renovation projects, and across hard landscaping applications. At 14kg it strikes a practical balance between breaking power and handling weight — substantially more manageable than a full-size 22kg trade breaker, while delivering significantly more impact force than a combination hammer or SDS Max machine.
With a 1,500W motor and an impact rate of up to 1,900bpm, the HXBKR1500D delivers fast, productive breaking action through concrete, block, tile, brick, and similar hard construction materials. The 45J impact energy rating places it firmly in the mid-range breaker class — powerful enough for breaking concrete slabs, removing ceramic and natural stone floor tiles, demolishing block walls, and carrying out kerb and edging work, while remaining light enough to be used in more confined spaces and at varying working angles where a full-size T-handle breaker would be impractical.
Three bits are supplied as standard, giving immediate versatility across the most common breaking and demolition applications. A flat chisel is the go-to choice for slab breaking, tile removal, and surface demolition where a wide, spreading blow is most effective. A point chisel concentrates the full impact energy into a focused tip, ideal for breaking through reinforced concrete, penetrating hard substrates, and making initial cuts in dense materials. A demolition chisel extends the range further for more specialised breaking tasks. An auxiliary side handle provides a secure two-handed grip for improved control and reduced fatigue during extended breaking sessions, and a 3.2m heavy-duty cable with BS plug provides a generous working length for site use. The whole package is supplied in a carry case for organised, protected storage and transport between locations.

FAQ Section
What materials can the HXBKR1500D break?
The HXBKR1500D is suited to breaking concrete slabs and paths, removing ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone floor tiles, demolishing brick and block walls, breaking up block paving, and tackling kerb and edging work. With 45J of impact energy it is capable across a wide range of mid-level breaking and demolition tasks encountered in construction, renovation, and hard landscaping.
What is the difference between the HXBKR1500D and the Expert HEXBKR/E/T2100?
The HEXBKR/E/T2100 is a full-size trade breaker at 22.5kg with 85J of impact energy and a 2,100W motor — designed for the most demanding professional demolition work including reinforced concrete breaking at ground level. The HXBKR1500D is a lighter, more manageable 14kg mid-range breaker delivering 45J — better suited to renovation, tile removal, block breaking, and applications where the greater weight and bulk of a full-size breaker would be impractical. The right choice depends on the scale and intensity of the breaking task.
What chisels are supplied with the HXBKR1500D?
Three bits are included: a flat chisel for slab and surface breaking, a point chisel for concentrated impact on hard or reinforced materials, and a demolition chisel for more specialised breaking applications — covering the most common breaking and demolition requirements encountered on site and in renovation work.
What does the auxiliary side handle do?
The side handle attaches to the body of the breaker to provide a second grip point, allowing the tool to be held securely with both hands during use. This improves control during breaking, reduces the strain transmitted to the operator's arms during extended sessions, and helps maintain accurate positioning of the bit on the material being broken.
How does 45J of impact energy compare to an SDS Max or combination hammer?
SDS Max hammers typically deliver between 8J and 20J of impact energy, while combination hammers are usually in the 2J–5J range. At 45J, the HXBKR1500D delivers significantly more breaking force than either — making it the correct tool choice when SDS drilling hammers are insufficient for the task but a full-size 85J trade breaker is more than required.
Is the HXBKR1500D supplied in a carry case?
Yes. The HXBKR1500D is supplied in a carry case for organised, protected storage of the breaker and its accessories during transport between sites and storage when not in use.
