Drills - SDS & Hammer

The standard drill is the hammer drill. It basically gets the job done by hammering away at the brick, stone or concrete you are drilling into. This does get the job done but quickly takes it's toll on the drill bit and sometimes on your back and shoulders – especially when drilling upwards or into a window lintel for example. It is important that on a ladder you don't push too hard in case the ladder slips! If you do a lot of drilling and you haven’t tried an SDS drill then you should.Rather than hammering into the brick it actually bites and pulls itself in. That means it does far more of the work for you, making the job quicker and saving you a lot of effort. Well worth the investment – and drill bits last a lot longer too! Maybe a dust extraction unit would be worth it too – a great addiction to any drill.
