Solvent free adhesive
High-strength bonding performance on all surfaces
Is applied to one surface only which saves assembly time
Initial cure time of 5 minutes
This picture sequence shows a typical application; mounting BigHeads onto a painted concrete pillar, using BigBond “High Grab” adhesive. It also shows how our unique spreader discs (supplied free with every tube) are used to spread the surplus adhesive - forced through the holes in the fastener’s head by gentle pressure - into rivet shapes, thereby increasing its effectiveness and adhesion performance. As long as the concrete surface is clean and dry, no primer is required; for maximum effectiveness, though, you can clean and degrease the BigHeads using BigBond’s own Activator.
Spread a generous layer (2-4mm)
Press & rotate the BigHead firmly
Spread a generous layer (2-4mm) of adhesive as shown, in the required position. For surfaces other than concrete follow the surface preparation instructions on the pack. Use BigBond Activator for maximum performance.
Press and rotate the BigHead firmly into the adhesive, allowing surplus adhesive to flow through the holes in the head. Check positioning carefully. Initial ‘grab’ takes place within minutes. High Grab normally needs no additional support while setting.
Press out a pre-cut Spreader Disc
Push the disc down the shaft
Press out a pre-cut Spreader Disc. The central cuts allow the disc to be pushed firmly over and down the fastener’s stud or collar. The disc is rigid, absorbent paper board, pre-printed with alignment markings.
Push the disc slowly and firmly down the shaft. The surplus adhesive which is forced through the holes is pressed flat by the disc, to form an extra layer which covers the BigHead’s upper surface.
Additional, different type of BigHead
The finished job
This picture shows an additional, different type of BigHead being positioned. This is a stainless steel version, on which surface High Grab’s bonding performance is equally effective on most substrates.
The finished job. Note the printed-on positional markers. Normally, the spreader discs are left in position on the fasteners; they can, however, be torn off after the adhesive has set (although this isn’t easy!)
