BigBond FS Acrylic is a very high strength, two-component, methacrylate-based adhesive for use in surface-mounting BigHead fasteners in high-load situations, and in::
Structural joining of metals, concrete, polycarbonates, GRP and composite constructions.
Ultra-powerful, high-load adhesive for use in building and construction applications.
High-impact applications in ceramics-based products. High viscosity, non-sagging.
High-strength adhesion in cars, coaches, commercial vehicles, aerospace & transport.
General use in Marine, signmaking, retail displays, and external cladding applications.
Preparation: For maximum performance use a cleaning agent to clean and degrease the substrate’s surface. For maximum adhesion on non-porous surfaces, remove all paint and other coatings and thoroughly abrade the substrate’s surface before degreasing. FS Acrylic is a high-viscosity, non-sagging adhesive; after application, support is needed for 4-5 minutes for initial bonding. Although initial working strength takes 30-40 minutes, full strength needs a 7 day cure period.
Surface clean & free of grease
Spread a generous layer (3-4mm)
The surface (stainless steel shown to take the BigHead must be clean and free of grease, oil, etc. On non-porous surfaces, use a suitable cleaner for maximum adhesion performance.
Spread a generous layer (3-4mm) of adhesive as shown; make sure the amount you apply will cover the whole head area of the BigHead to be fixed, for maximum strength.
Adhesive & hardener mixed
Press/rotate the Bighead
The adhseive and hardener are automatically mixed in the special mixer nozzle supplied. When starting a new tube, expel the first 1” or so to ensure a 50/50 mixture is achieved.
Press/rotate the BigHead into the adhesive. Optimum film thickness is 0.5mm - 0.75mm Initial ‘grab’ when applying to vertical surfaces may need support for first 5 minutes’ cure
PLEASE NOTE: as with all adhesives, FS Acrylic generates maximum strength after a substantial cure time of up to 7 days. However, the product’s very high performance means that its loadbearing ability is excellent after a few hours. We’ll happily discuss customers’ applications, and supply ‘safe’ cure times for specific applied loads.
